 Moisture test probe (cuticle moisture test HYD-MEL FX)

The SOFT-FX measures the moisture content of the stratum corneum by the scientifically accepted capacitance method, which measures the capacitance across a capacitor. A capacitor consists of two conductive plates (tracks) separated by an insulating material called a dielectric. (Figure 3) In the capacitor composed of probe + skin, one conductive plate is the probe surface, and the other conductive plate is the moisture representation of the stratum corneum of the skin. The stratum corneum is composed of dead keratinocytes dispersed in a lipid medium and is an excellent barrier to the passage of chemicals and electrical currents.

Melanin Test Probe (MEL-HYD FX)


Melanin technology is based on the principle of absorption/reflection at two wavelengths (875nm and 660nm). Melanin is the most important pigment in determining human skin color, and other substances that mainly contribute to skin color are: oxygen, deoxyhemoglobin and carotenoids. The sensor of the probe consists of two kinds of light-emitting diodes, emitting visible light (660nm) and infrared (875nm) spectrum, respectively, and consists of photodetectors. The wavelengths chosen correspond to the different absorption rates of skin pigments. Once the probe is applied to the skin surface, the radiation emitted by the light source is absorbed and reflected by the skin. The radiation reflected by the skin reaches a photodetector, which measures the energy at 660nm and 880nm. The detection of melanin is manifested as a decrease in reflectivity for all bands.

Grease test probe Sebum FX

The softness, smoothness and elasticity of the skin are achieved by the hydrolipidic film on the stratum corneum. The measurement of sebum is based on the principle of spectrophotometer + the principle of two-color light photography. The spectrophotometer principle is composed of a light source and 4 photodetectors. When the oil is stuck on the skin, the tape absorbs the sebum (water has different physical properties, so it will not interfere with the measurement), and the oil-absorbing part will become transparent. The photo is taken by two-color light, the light source transmits the transparent tape part, and the non-transparent part is reflected to 4 photodetectors, and the photodiode detects and receives the reflected light. The amount of transmitted light depends on the sebum content on the surface of the measurement area, which is completely absorbed by the black bottom plate. The oil content (ug/cm²) is converted from the transmittance, and the distribution of oil can also be clearly seen by taking pictures with two-color light. Digital + visual oil The measurement is more intuitive and accurate.

Skin elasticity test probe ELA FX

Skin deformation is quantified by specially developed sensors. The sensor consists of a light source. The light source generates a transverse beam inside the probe. The more the skin inside the probe is deformed, the weaker the intensity of the beam will be. If the light source signal decreases, the skin elasticity will also decrease accordingly.
